Indifference

There was a time,
When I mattered,
Least of all.

When everyone,
Mattered more,
Than me.

I shut my eyes,
So tight,
That even I couldn’t see.

My tears,
My frustration,
My anger.

Invisible,
Hidden,
And tucked away.

I refused to fool myself,
To claim joy,
Where there was none.

Instead,
Indifference
Became my reality.

I lived it,
I breathed it,
My life was engulfed.

But now I want it back.
My life, My feelings
Me.
